Our patchwork & quilting projects introduce construction methods for traditional-style patchwork blocks – you can explore different blocks or focus on your favourites.

The aim is to build confidence and expertise in machine piecing and quilting. You can use the quilt blocks to make into a sampler quilt, table mats, cushions, or shopping bags.

Block patterns and instructions will be provided in class

- Taught by tutor Mary Flower,

- You will learn techniques on how to create perfect seams when joining small pieces of fabric

- You will gain knowledge on quilting seam allowance pressing

- You will put lots of tips and hints

- Professional finish

- Make new creative friends!
You will need:

Equipment:

Your own sewing kit including sharp scissors, thread, pins etc

Pencil or chalk marker

Small safety pins

For my sampler quilt or other beginner project, you will need 4 or 5 fat quarters plus a half-metre of a neutral background. Other fabrics can be added later for borders and backing.

Optional – bring them if you have them already:
Rotary cutter, quilter’s ruler & self-healing cutting mat

Sewing machines are provided at the Studio, but please be aware that all Studio equipment (machines, scissors, notions, accessories & haberdashery) is in constant use for multiple classes.
