Through step‑by‑step learning, you’ll explore pattern adaptation, shaping techniques, pressing, linings and professional finishing. Whether you’re aiming for a career in fashion, costume, alterations or bespoke tailoring, this course builds confidence, accuracy and creative problem‑solving while supporting you to produce garments you can be proud of.
You will be able to:
- Cut garments from a block
- Make various parts of a garment with precision, resulting in a high quality finished garment.
- Set sleeves correctly, to achieve perfect shoulder alignment and a clean professional finish.
- Understand garment structure including interlining and canvasing, to create durable and well-shaped garments.
- Install linings smoothly.
- Construct collars.
- Attach buttons and hand-make buttonholes .
- Press and finish garments to a professional standard, ensuring a crisp and tailored appearance.
We will have specialist canvas and inner facings materials that are needed in tailoring for you to purchase throughout the course.
